How long have you been with Mott MacDonald?
Since August 2006
What did you do before starting at Mott MacDonald?
I was working as an assistant of Site Manager on tunnel
constructions in Prague, Czech Republic during my studies and then
I moved to the UK working for a different company as a geotechnical
engineer after my graduation.
What made you choose your career?
Having been the typical “good-in-everything” student it was
difficult to decide what to do after high school. Honestly I don’t
remember any particular moment that made me choose engineering, I
just felt like it is something I could be good at. Eventually I
found out that I really like it and tunnels became my big
passion.
What's the best bit of your job?
That you can go out and touch and see what you have contributed to
create.
What's been your favourite project?
Out of the three major projects I was involved in it’s hard to
say. I like projects that are challenging, make me work hard, learn
a lot and enjoy myself altogether.
What are your professional interests?
I like learning new things and never stop. Drill-and-blast
methods are my favourite reading at the moment….
What are your personal interests?
I spend my Sunday mornings doing archery. I like to swim in the sea
and walk in the mountains, always read a book and have a Sudoku in
my pocket.
